Prairie Poltergeist

Well last night I slept in the house where they filmed such movies as Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Deliverance. Ok well not exactly. Being a nomad this summer required sleeping in at least 4 locations. With tonight’s photo I introduce you to location number four. The master bedroom of Rose house. If you happen to be a Denisonian you may recognize the name. And if images of several centuries year-old ghosts in flower print aprons doesn't come to mind then you must be part of the "limited-to-shorney-Sawyer-and-crawford-parties" type of freshman. You (and me, prior to last night) haven’t been introduced to the 200 year-old former president's mansion, and former underground railroad stop (seriously) turned ultra-cool upper-class party house. And if you have witnessed one of these parties, then I'm sure you haven’t seen the house in all its horror-movie glory, which takes sleeping in it while its vacant and empty with only one other person in the house.
Let's just say I thought it would be cool to bunk up in the old thing while a fraternity brother, who happens to be living there this year, had moved in early. Well I, choosing from several, picked the biggest and coolest room. Which, during the day, was pretty brow-lifting with it's well shoe-sole polished hardwood floors, ornate wallpapering, and fireplace. Well, night time hits (around 3 am) and then comes the realization that you are sitting on your bed, attempting to plug in your very out-of-place cell-phone cord, in a classroom sized bedroom utterly empty except for you and your bed. And of course. Of course the light switch is on the farthest wall from the bed.
I did what any 20 year old guy would do; I walked calmly across the room to the switch, flicked the lights off and ran like a bat outa hell to my bed making sure to jump at the last minute to avoid any monsters that were plotting to grab my legs.
Good night, and sleep tight. Which I did, after two hours of analyzing every sound I heard.

I'm glad I got a photo along with the entertainment that night of the freaked out Moulak. Wish I were moving in early with all of you...
